This division is responsible for maintaining an optimal staff, managing human resources, providing training and providing the necessary facilities for the efficient and fair administration of justice in the department.

Under this, the following activities are carried out by the Institutions Division.

  • Coordinating and submitting recommendations on institutional and administrative matters such as promotions, leave, disciplinary control, retirement, etc. of officers/employees belonging to the island-wide services and the joint service.
  • Carrying out institutional and administrative matters such as recruitment, promotions, leave, disciplinary control, retirement, etc. for departmental posts.
  •  Approving overtime and holiday salaries, travel expenses of the staff.
  • Maintaining the security service and cleaning service of the department.
  •  Maintaining the case materials division.
  • Maintaining the repair and maintenance of departmental buildings and assets.
  •  Providing transportation facilities, vehicle maintenance and management as applicable to the staff
  •  Maintaining discipline among the entire staff of the department.
